So last month while I was in San Mateo, Chona calls me and says "hey, Cam-Cam's baptism is on May 8 and you have baptism class new saturday." I was like, "whoa - that's fast!"
So my first weekend of May, I attended my baptism class and learned about why we should take the daily bread. I swear, the guy teaching the class didn't even tell us what we needed to do during the baptism. That was my saturday night. Sunday, Jim & I went for a ride in Malibu. It was sooo hot but I had a nice ride. Of course, Jim was bored cuz he was going straight...
I had a department meeting in Palm Springs from Wednsday, May 5 through Friday May 7. We had an option of staying that Friday night, so I asked Jim to meet in in Palm Springs... That wednsday was NUTS! I had to go to work in the morning til 11am, then I went home to change, went to Carson Mall to find Cam-Cam's baptism dress, Chona's house to drop it off, pick up the ribbons that went around the candles for the baptism give-away, then I stopped by Long Beach Towne Center for gas & to try to find an outfit. I didn't find one, so I went to Cerritos mall and looked in Forever 21. I was there for an HOUR trying on crap. What a pain. Finally, I got on the road around 3:30 and made it to Palm Springs at 5:30.
We stayed at the Wyndham but I didn't like it as much as last year's hotel. We had cocktails and ate dinner. We watched the Lakers lose the game at the Bar. Then we went to sleep for the meeting the next day. the meeting was pretty boring. And we got out a little early so I worked on my research paper for my Philosophy class... I got ready then went down for more drinks & dinner. A group of us went to a Karaoke bar and sang. I had to leave early because Jim was on his way and when he got there, we went to pick up some food, then went to sleep.
The next day, I finished up w/ my meeting then got Jim so we could hit the pool. We got some drinks and relaxed all day. At around 5ish, we went back to the room and got ready. We walked on the main strip trying to find a place to eat. The first place we stopped at SUCKED, but the second place made up for it. We went back to the room so we could put our left overs away, then left for the Agua Caliente Casino on Jim's bike. Jim played some 3/6 Texas Hold'em and started off with a full house. He came up on some money and we decided to call it a night at around 11.
The next day we hurried back to Long Beach for Cam Cam's baptism. We ate and then took off cuz we were food comatose - and I had to finish my research paper. When we woke up we rode to Long Beach Towne Center so that we could eat some Daphne's. After dinner, we rode to Pine Street so that we could watch 'Kill Bill V. 2'. I thought it was a pretty good movie... We rode through the 'Pike' and I laid my bike down as I was turning right onto the street to the freeway. I was so mad at myself. I hate it when I stall and let the damn bike fall... This time I actually got a bruise. Anyhow, we went home & called it a night.
The next day was sunday and we had our normal breakfast. We watched the Laker game and I started to cook for the Mother's day dinner at Jim's aunt's house. After the game, we went to Jim's other family and ate. Then we went to the other dinner and I ate again. I know, what a fat ass... hehehe... Jerilyn gave me some beautiful yellow roses and I rubbed it into Jim. We left around 10:30 then went home to sleep...
Of course, my week was non-eventful - work, school, bingo, bowling...
The next saturday (the 15th), I had to pick up Madonna from the airport. After we dropped them off, we watched the Laker game at my house. We had some drinks, ate, and cheered the Lakers on as they won the game. Jim came home and then we went to sleep...
The next day, we stayed in bed again and hung out til Levi called us to come ride with Mark. We all hooked up at Mark's house and slowly made our way to Hooters in Long Beach. After we ate, we went home and went to sleep... Another boring weekend...
During the week, there was work, bowling, I skipped Wed. night bingo and hung out with Jim. On thursday, I had allergies all day so I went straight home after I took my last Economics test to take a nap. I spent an hour trying to figure out if I was going to go out with Chona and Fritz for their coming out party. I decided to go and I actually had fun...
Funny how small the world is though. I saw Michelle - the new school go-go girl and started talking to her. Turns out she rides too and low & behold - guess who taught her? None other than the infamous Mike Duran. Geez... The world is too damn small... So I told Jim about her and we're going to try to hook up with her & her friends on sunday to ride Ortega Hwy...
Tonight is friday and Jerilyn & I just got back from Fri. night bingo. We lost. What more can I say about that???

Hot Summer Nights in June & July
June came & went and Jim & I spent the month adjusting to coupledom.
Here are a couple of hightlights for the month of June:
June 19 Mark Farina @ IVAR
June 28 Electric Daisy Carnival
During the month of July, Jim & I had a whole bunch of things planned...
July 3rd Mayan night
We went with Mark, Erica, and my sis and met up with the people from Legend... Highlights: We were having a ball getting our groove on - until Erica had to be carried out of the club by Mark. Chances are, I would have been in the same boat if we would have stayed any longer...
4th of July Party @ Mark's house
Didn't drink too much cuz of the night before and because we were leaving for Vegas (again) the next morning.
July 5 Vegas
Highlights: One month anniversary & Jim bowled the tourney in Vegas and made it to the top 32.
July 12 My mom's & Kelly's Birthday Celebration @ my house
July 13 Chona's Bridal Shower
July 17 Santa Barbara for Chona's wedding
July 19 Another Vegas trip to party with the APT guys
Highlights: Jim was angry drunk guy and gave me a big bruise on my leg - WAH!
July 31 Clubbing @ 'The Pier'
So yeah, July was a busy month. 2 months together and we're still getting to know each other.
One of the things that I've learned is that KARMA really does play a part in your life.
BIG EXAMPLE: Angry Drunks... I guess Jim is in my life to be MY angry drunk guy, for all the times that I was angry drunk girl to Joel. wow. Makes you think THREE times about the shit that you do, you know???

June 5, 2003
He asked me to be his girlfriend.
I said, "So you want this to be official?"
He said simply, "Yes."
I giggled and said, "I never know how to answer that question."
Even though I just wanted to say YES YES YES...
I really don't know how to answer that question.
Finally, I looked at him and said it - "YES."
He smiled, I smiled, and then we hugged.
And now we're Jim & Anna
*REWIND*
In the beginning...
I saw him at the bowling alley. Friday night winter league at Cal Bowl. We started the league early September and his team was one of the first we played against. How could you not notice the tall bald filipino guy that rolled the ball so gracefully, yet struck the pins so violently that you could feel the power from three lanes down? So I asked Mo how old he was and she said 21. Damn. 21. I was damn near 30, so that was a loss cause. Or so I thought at the time...
Around the middle of January, we started having little conversations in the Bar while watching Laker games. A simple question was all I asked, "Have you ever been to a Laker game @ Staples Center?"
He said no... I mentioned that I had been to a few and offered to bring him to a game. He invited me to a little get together at his house one weekend and gave me his cell number to call him. I called him 10 minutes later just to make sure that I had the right number. He told me later that he thought that was odd. I didn't think so, what if I didn't have the right number? I called him the next day to inquire on the party. The person that answered the phone said that he was taking a shower. I thought I was going to get a call back, but that didn't happen...
February came along and so did a little more flirting. Finally, he asked me to go out... His sister was having a birthday thing at Miyagi's. I didn't mention that I LOATHED going to that place, but I still said yes and tagged along. Thanks to Jim's courteous nature, I was introduced to everyone that was there on that first night. We walked around for a minute and he grabbed my hand as he lead me through the crowd. That was refreshing. A guy that took control. Something that I had been needed for a really long time...
March came and went quickly. We went out a few times and Jim would drop me off at like 4 in the morning and he'd get a hug good night and then leave... BUT the one thing that stood out the most was the night of my birthday... I went clubbing with some friends and called him for moral drunk driving home support. Being my obnoxious drunk self, I talked him into letting me come over - to his mom's house at 4:00 in the morning. "Have you ever had a girl spend the night?" Then it became a game. A dare. Needless to say, I spent the night and had to round up all the courage in the world just to say good bye to his parents the very next morning...
April was an interesting month for us... He mentioned he was going to Vegas for the weekend. The very next day, I get a text message from Dingo asking me if Chona & I were going to be in Vegas that same weekend. Then I had one of my boldest, brightest ideas ever. I was going to drive to Vegas that weekend to meet up with Dingo AND Jim... Problem was, none of my 'girls' was down to go away with me for the weekend... I was leaving saturday at 4:00, right after Faye's babyshower, and NONE of my girls wanted to go. But did that stop me? Hell no. I drove my lonely happy ass to Vegas, got there at 8:00, went straight to Jim's room (Dingo was watching a flick with his uncle), and dragged the guys to Rain @ the Palm's Casino. The line was hella long, so we ended up partying @ MGM's Studio 54. We partied til we had to leave at 4:00, so that we could take Dingo to the airport. Dingo was kind enough to give us his room - coincidentally at the same hotel that Jim was staying at - so Jim and I slept there. It's too bad mother nature was controlling the situation - if you know what I mean...
The thursday after we got back from Vegas, I had to call Jim for a ride home from National's in Torrance. Work had one if its infamous happy hours and for some reason, I end up being the highlight of the night. After drama, and one drink too many, I call Jim and ask him to "please pick me up now..." My knight in shining armor comes, gets verbally abused by the old guy, and takes me to his house. GREAT. Anna has a nice long drunk talk with Mrs. Morales while Jim-who-just-came-from-the-Gym showers and changes into Jim-ready-to-go-clubbing. We go out and party with the gang at Live Bait/the Pier. So Jim finally gets past the hug good night at the door and I invite him in to sleep over. The next morning, we get ready, pick up some sinigang for my hangover, and head to his house so he could get ready. We shopped at Melrose for the day, had lunch, and went bowling...
It's still April and the next weekend, we're back in Vegas for our bowling league sweeps... Chona, Fritz & I left kinda early on friday so I didn't really meet up with Jim until 4am Saturday morning. Jim, Jerilyn, & Euresa were about to eat at cafe in the Flamingo. I was already yakking from all the alcohol I had that night. gross. Bowling came and went and so did the rest of the weekend...
May... After more nights out and sleepovers, I decide to invite Jim to Palm Springs, along with Chona & Fritz. We had a great time - aside from the 1 hour hike in the 100 degree weather... That weekend away together was a primer for what was to come. Because after May came June 5, 2003 - and now known as the Beginning of Jim & Anna's life as one...
